HELLO AND HAPPY LAUNCH DAY!
Why Change?
This change has been on my heart for such a long time. It might not be obvious to you, but it was completely necessary as I decided to grow and expand my business. There are a lot of changes coming internally to Alice & Flore Studios, which made me feel that a new look and image was necessary!
Firstly, as a local Winnipeg photographer, I felt like after five years with a camera in front of my face, I finally had to pick a niche. Of course, you don’t HAVE to pick a niche, but I knew that I wanted to really focus on taking the type of photos that I love the most. In the past year, I’ve developed a passion for branding, headshots and corporate content creation.
I also noticed that the look of my logo and imagery wasn’t really “me”. There were a lot of neutral and toned-down palettes and for those of you who know me KNOW that I am not neutral.
I am loud and bright and full of energy!
I felt that my brand finally had to represent ME and the experience that you, my trusted clients, get when hiring ME. Choosing new colours and vibes was such a fun process! I hired a professional for this. Chantelle from Clear Quartz Creative lead me through a fantastic process and a bit of soul searching that led me to the changes that have been made.
New Stories
I’m a tiny bit sad (but also, very relieved) to report that weddings are a thing of the past for Alice & Flore Studios. Maybe not forever, but definitely not right now. I’ve photographed some amazing couples in the last 5 years and have loved telling their love stories. But now, I’m ready to tell a new type of story and it’s a passion that I’m excited to pursue.
Going forward, I want to tell the story of your business! Your process, your workplace culture, your vibe, your people! In a time when social media is increasingly important in business practices, I know you don’t have time to take pictures and produce content. You’re already running your own empire! Let me help you tell the story and continue to land those ideal clients.
I’m so excited and scared to take on this change. New beginnings are never easy but I’m proud to have made this change for myself and my business. There is a whole new list of service offerings that you can find here.
That being said, I wanted to leave you with three important takeaways from this journey in case you’re on the fence about a rebrand or website build:
Commit + Invest
I’ve probably been doing research on a web designer since August of 2019. Then, I finally hired and met with Chantelle in November, and now it’s February and we’re gearing up to launch! Yikes. It wasn’t an overnight success. She took so much time to get to know me, my voice and the type of voice that my ideal client would want to hear. Plus, her time and effort into my logo and graphics were outstanding. One of my first logos looked like this and it literally makes me cringe:
Was this route “cheap”? Nope, not really. I get it, money is always the issue. I’m a freelancer and my husband’s working and in school part-time. But, I sat down with my husband and explained why this was necessary to my business and the investment and risk of doing it and he agreed! He knew that a new website and brand identity were needed if I wanted to take my business to the next level. So, we invested together and honestly, we’re both thrilled with the result.
Dig Deep
Why are you an entrepreneur? Or solopreneur? Or freelancer? My sessions with Chantelle really forced me to dig deep and figure out my ideal client and how I want to serve them. I had to let go of a lot of other things and lies that were keeping me from being my own best employee. I needed to figure out what I really wanted to do and what I really didn’t want to do. I think that thanks to talking it out with Chantelle, my husband and other trusted friends, I was able to really elevate my own business which is very exciting. It’s almost more empowering to figure out what you don’t want to do then help figure out your next steps.
Take Your Time
I mentioned that this process started in November and it’s now just under three months later and I wouldn’t trade anything. I’ve made far too many websites for myself and big business decisions over the course of a night when I was bored. It’s insane. I was so happy to sit back and really think about what I wanted. To open Chantelle’s email of my new potential logos, stare at them, then close my laptop and come back to it later. Having that time to let these new elements of my brand really sink in was so essential.
THANK YOU!
Once again, I just want to thank each and every one of you who have worked with me in the last 5 years, who have read my blog posts and left reviews and showed support in so many ways! It’s been such a blast! I’m so excited to share this new space with you and give you all of my tips, tricks, client love and thoughts!
Blessings,
